Abstract

|
The locking plate fixation has been widely used in proximal humeral comminuted fracture and has been shown the good result. However, some studies show variable complication with varus malalignment, or fixation failure, especially in low quality of bone such as osteoporotic bone or fractures with medial metaphyseal comminution. Recently, the use of an endosteal strut allograft with a locking plate fixation for prevent these complication has been shown the promising results by various biomechanical studies. We report the clinical and radiographic excellent outcome by cases of locking plate fixation with endosteal strut allograft in proximal humeral comminuted fracture.
